If you don't already have a VRChat account and you want to upgrade your Steam, Meta, Pico, or Viveport account, you can do so directly by going to the Quick Menu's main page, scrolling through the banners at the top, and clicking on the one that says Upgrade Account. Then, enter your email, and follow the confirmation link to enter your new display name and password.
If you already have a VRChat account you want to use, you can merge a Platform account into it. Completing this process will grant you the benefits of a full VRChat account, such as the ability to gain Trust Ranks and upload content while keeping the simplicity of being able to log in with a single click when running VRChat via the corresponding platform.
Upon merging your Steam / Meta / Pico / Viveport platform account to your VRChat account, if the total number of favorites you have exceeds the maximum current limit, you may end up with more favorites than you are allowed to have. If that happens, you'll need to remove enough favorites to make room for new ones.

Please note that at this time, if you've made a purchase through the Creator Economy, you will not be able to merge a platform account (Steam, Meta, Viveport or Pico) into a full VRChat account. In this case, you'll need to Upgrade your account instead.
- Start by logging into the Steam, Meta, Pico or Viveport account you wish to merge.
- Open the Main Menu and navigate to Settings.
- On the Settings page, you can find the Merge button below Exit VRChat. If the Merge button is not visible to you, you are already logged into a full VRChat account.
- After you click Merge, follow the instructions on the screen to link your account.

- A full VRChat account can be linked to one of each platform accounts at the same time. As stated during the process, linking accounts is permanent and cannot be undone.
- You cannot merge a platform account into another platform account - instead, you'll need to merge them into a VRChat account.
