Please make sure you are running VRChat on a supported platform for purchase. VRChat subscriptions are available on Steam, Meta Quest standalone, Google Play, and Pico.
Your subscription is tied to the account it was purchased for and can be used on any platform you log in to with it after the purchase.
The payment overlay isn't opening on Steam
There can be a few reasons if nothing happens when you press the subscribe button.
- If you have a headset connected, please check your headset for the Steam popup.
- Please make sure you are launching VRChat from your Steam library and not any shortcuts.
- Check that the Steam Overlay is enabled in both the Steam settings and the VRChat Properties.
- Open Steam Settings and make sure that Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game from the In Game tab is active.
- Right-click VRChat in your Steam library and open Properties.
- In the General tab, ensure Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game is active.
- Confirm that the launch.exe in your VRChat installation folder is not set to run as an adminstrator.
- From the Properties window for VRChat click Browse in the Installed Files tab.
- Right-click on the launch.exe in the folder and open Properties.
- Make sure Run this program as an administrator is not enabled in the Compatability tab.
I'm receiving an error message when trying to subscribe
Q) User's payment for transaction is still processing with Steam
➜ A) This means you have a pre-existing subscription for which Steam is having issues charging your latest payment. To address this, go to your Steam Account Details, find the Manage Subscriptions section, and cancel the current subscription. After you've canceled your current subscription, you can subscribe again in the app with updated payment information.
Q) Subscription Failed. You have an active subscription on an alternate account.
➜ A) You already have a subscription on the corresponding platform for another VRChat account. You can either cancel your current subscription through the platform it was purchased on or, if you aren't sure which account it is on, submit a support request so we can assist you in locating it.
