If you’re experiencing issues launching VRChat because of issues with EAC, we’ve got a couple of troubleshooting steps for you to try.

Troubleshooting Steps

If you’re still having issues, here are a few things you can try:

  1. Follow the instructions located here to completely reinstall VRChat

  2. Check that your antivirus is not blocking Easy Anti-Cheat files (including temporarily disabling it) and that any firewalls you may have enabled aren't blocking Easy Anti-Cheat

  3. Reinstall/Repair Easy Anti-Cheat by going to the game's program files (in Steam, right click VRChat and go to Manage -> Browse local files), locate the EasyAntiCheat folder, right-click  EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe and select "Run as administrator".

Other Known Fixes

  • Hardware Stability - Make sure that your PC hardware is stable. Remove any overclocks, and use software like Memtest86 and Prime95 to verify system stability. Make sure your components are not overheating.

  • Commonly known software conflicts - While not always being the root cause, disabling or temporarily closing some of the following applications has helped in previous cases:
    • AVG
    • iCue by Corsair
    • Asus Armoury Crate
    • Avast
  • Windows Updates - Make sure that you are running the latest version of Windows available to you, and check for any available updates (including any Visual C++ Redistributables)

  • Update Graphics Driver - Make sure you're running on the latest driver updates available for your GPU

  • Scan for Malware - Scan for any malware, as there may be malware that could be interfering with EAC's functions

  • Restart your PC - Make sure that you try restarting your entire computer fully to restart any services that may be required to function alongside EAC

Once you’ve completed the above steps, restart your computer entirely, and then try running VRChat again. If issues continue, send in a support ticket with a screenshot of any error messages that appear or include a quick recording of the experience.
