There are several ways to enjoy the PC version of VRChat, including wireless streaming options that bring the experience directly to your Meta Quest headset.

In this article, we'll explore how to wirelessly stream VRChat to your Meta Quest headset using three methods: two free options and one that requires a paid Quest app, complete with detailed setup instructions for each.

Steam Link

The first option, and our recommended one, is Steam Link by Valve. This free app allows users to seamlessly stream their library of SteamVR games directly to their Meta Quest headset.

  • Preparation
    1. Ensure your PC meets the minimum requirements for VRChat.
    2. For optimal performance, ensure your PC and Meta Quest headset are connected to the same network, preferably a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network on a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 6E router.
  • Installing Software
    1. Install Steam on your PC.
    2. Once you have set up your Steam account, search for and install SteamVR.
    3. Download the Steam Link app from the Meta Quest store on your headset or the Meta app on your phone.
  • Setting Up Steam Link
    1. Launch the Steam Link app on your Meta Quest headset and follow the on-screen instructions to pair it with your PC.
    2. You may need to enter a code displayed on your headset into your PC to complete the pairing process.
  • Connecting and Playing
    1. Once you've successfully paired your headset to your PC, you can use the Steam Link to launch SteamVR and play VRChat directly from your Meta Quest headset.

If you encounter issues while setting up Steam Link, please refer to the official Steam Link guide for more information

Meta Quest Air Link

The second option is Air Link by Meta. This free, pre-built feature included with your Meta Quest allows users to stream their PC games directly to their Meta Quest headset.

    1. On your PC, install the Meta Quest Link app.
    2. Install Steam on your PC.
    3. Once you have set up your Steam account, search for and install SteamVR.
  • Setting Up Air Link
    1. Put on your headset and press the Meta/Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open the universal menu.
    2. Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu, then select Quick Settings.
    3. In the Quick Settings panel, select Settings in the top right corner, then select Quest Link from the left menu.
    4. Enable Quest Link by selecting the toggle, then select Launch Quest Link and the toggle next to Use Air Link.
    5. Open the Meta Quest Link PC app, ensure your PC and headset are on the same network, and select your PC from the Available PCs list to pair.
    6. Confirm the pairing code shown in VR with the one on your computer, click Confirm on the desktop app, then select Launch in VR to begin using Air Link.
  • Connecting and Playing
    1. Once you've successfully paired your headset to your PC, you can use Air Link to launch SteamVR and play VRChat directly from your Meta Quest headset.

If you encounter issues while setting up Meta Quest Air Link, please refer to the official Meta Quest Air Link guide for more information

Virtual Desktop

The third option is Virtual Desktop. This paid Meta Quest app allows users to stream their PC games directly to their Meta Quest headset, with a few more features that the free options do not provide. You can see a complete list of features on the Virtual Desktop store page. To enable wireless streaming to your headset, make sure you purchase Virtual Desktop from the Meta Quest store instead of Steam.

This app is unaffiliated with VRChat, and as such, we cannot provide any direct assistance in troubleshooting the app. You can find answers to plenty of questions answered by the developers of the application on their website.
