Items are a new category of content, alongside our existing categories of Avatars and Worlds.
Items are their own content type - you can use them almost anywhere, no matter what Avatar or World you're in. Items can be all sorts of things - currently, most Items are dropped in the world for you to interact with.
Currently, all Items are created and distributed by VRChat. We're still working on our plans for Items we want to release, and we've got some big ideas. Stay tuned for lots more news about Items in the future!
We've prepared an FAQ regarding Items below that should answer some of the most common questions we've received from you and the community.

🤔 How do I get Items?
Timed exclusive Item drops, like the Bubble Blaster and Rainbow Ribbon. Many of these drops will be exclusive to VRC+ subscribers.
Purchasable Items, like the Spookality 2025 Items. These can be purchased with VRChat Credits in the VRChat Shop.
Special Item drops, redeemed with a code or awarded directly. These may have special requirements, like participating in a limited event.

📋 How do I see what Items I have?You can check your Items on the VRChat Website, or inside VRChat by opening the Quick Menu or Main Menu and finding the Inventory button on the top right.

⤵ How do I use Items?
You can Spawn items in an Instance by selecting them in the Items menu and pressing "Spawn Item".
You can also add Items to your Action Menu by clicking on them and pressing "Add To Action Menu". Then, you can open your Action Menu and select "Items" to see your quick-access Items.
Some Items will spawn directly in front of you, while others are anchored in the world and need to be manually dropped.
Some Items can be interacted with once spawned in an Instance. For example, you can interact with the Bubble Blaster by equipping it and using the "Use" option to spawn bubbles.

🙈 Can I hide an item?
Yes! You can open your Quick Menu and select the Item in the world with your laser pointer or mouse cursor, like you would select a Player or Sticker. Then, press "Visibility" to toggle between showing and hiding the item.
For Group Instance moderators, you can remove Items in your instances by selecting them and pressing "remove". You can also disable Items altogether in the Instance Settings, with the right permissions - just open up the "Current Instance" tab in your Quick Menu and select "Items" to disable it.

🚫 Why can't I spawn an item?
Groups can limit items from being spawned in their Instances. If Items aren't allowed in your current instance, you won't be able to Spawn them, your Items menu will be grayed out, and the "Here" tab will have the Items icon grayed out.

🚧 Can I make my own Items?
Currently, we don't support user-created Items.

🗓️ I missed an Item drop. Can I still get it?
If you didn't log in during a drop window, or weren't eligible (for example, if you weren't a VRC+ subscriber during a VRC+ content drop window), we're not able to help out - sorry about that.
When we announce time-limited content drops, we include an end date - you'll have to log in and redeem your bundle before that date to get the Item.
