Reporting Groups

Groups are spaces where users with similar interests can come together, organize events, create group instances, and stay connected. Each group can have its own gallery and can showcase its identity with a banner and an icon. To create a group, a VRC+ subscription is required; however, any user can join a group, depending on the group’s privacy settings. Additionally, users can choose to represent one group at a time, displaying the group’s banner, name, and shortcode on their nameplate.

If you encounter a group that you believe is violating VRChat Guidelines, you may wish to report it so that the Trust and Safety team can evaluate it.

🔎 Reporting a group by search

You can search for a specific group in VRChat by using the search function in the Groups tab of your Main Menu. You can locate an exact group if you know the shortcode, or you can search for key specific words to find what you're looking for.

Clicking on a group will bring you to that group's page. Press the Report button and fill out the report.

🖼️ Reporting a group by representation

If a user is representing a group you want to report, you can navigate directly to that group's page by selecting the user and clicking on the image under the Groups section on their profile page. Once on the group's page, press the Report button and fill out the report.

🚫 Hiding group banners

If you don't want group banners to appear on the nameplate, you can turn them off entirely. To do so, navigate to the User Interface tab in the Settings menu. Under the Nameplate section you can toggle group banners on or off.
