In VRChat, users can talk to each other through Voice or Text chat. You can block either type of communication for each user by selecting them and using the User Voice or User Chatbox buttons in the User Actions section of the Quick Menu. These options toggle your ability to receive voice or see text from that user. They do not stop others from hearing your voice or seeing your chatbox.
Your Safety Settings can also control User Voice. Please refer to the article Safety Resources: For Players to learn about Safety Settings.
🔇 Disable Voice and Text chat

Navigate to the Here section of your Quick Menu, or select the user. -
Find the target user in the user list and select them. You may skip this step if you've selected them by other means. -
Enable or disable the User Voice or User Chatbox functions by pressing the associated buttons.
⚠️ Enable Chatbox Language Filter
Additionally, you can choose to enable a language filter for messages sent in the Chatbox. You can find this option in the Comfort & Safety settings under the Safety section.
