Blocking a user is the quickest way to remove them from your personal VRChat experience. Blocked users will remain in your instance but will not be visible to you, nor will they be able to see or interact with you directly. While blocked users can still interact with the world and its objects, their actions will be invisible to you. Additionally, blocking is not a permanent action; you can always choose to unblock a user later if you change your mind!
If users are engaging in behavior that violates the VRChat Guidelines, you may choose to report them in addition to blocking them. You do not need to block a user to report them. Reporting users you believe are violating the VRChat Guidelines is the best way to ensure the Trust and Safety team evaluates their behavior.
đźš« Blocking a user in your instance
To block a user currently in your instance, you can either select them manually, or select them from the list of users in the Here tab of your Quick Menu. This list is located at the bottom of the section, and may require you to scroll down the menu.
Once you have selected a user, you will find the Block User button in the User Actions section of the menu.
Select the Here tab from your Quick Menu.
Find the offending user in the user list.
Press the Block User button.
â›” Blocking a user outside of your instance
To block a user not currently inside of your instance, you will need to locate them. You can locate them via user search, your friends list, or any in-app list of users not currently in your instance. Once you are on the user's page, select the Moderate User button, and select Block User from the list of options.
Find the user via search or any applicable in-app list.
Once you have located the user, select them to view their profile.
Press Moderate User and select Block User from the list of options.
🤝 Unblocking a user
Blocking is just as easy to undo, as it is to do. To find your list of blocked users, navigate to your Social menu, and select the Blocked tab at the bottom. You will then be presented with a list of users you have blocked. Select the user you wish to unblock, and press the Unblock button now located next to the Moderate User button.
Open the Social tab of your Main Menu, and open the Blocked tab at the bottom. Select the user you want to unblock.
Press the Unblock button.
âť—Reporting a user
To report a user in your instance, you can either select the user or use the Here tab in your Quick Menu.
Select the user you want to report or locate them via the Here tab in your Quick Menu.
Find the offending user in the list of users.
Press the Report button and fill out the report.
