✨ Introducing: Avatar Marketplace!
Identity is a big part of VRChat – and that means finding an avatar that fits you. Yet, that can be a bit of a pain, especially if you aren’t adept with Unity, or if you don’t feel like visiting hundreds of worlds to try to find something that fits.
But what if you didn’t have to do any of that – what if you could simply find something that works for you from inside VRChat? What if you could browse through a ton of easily accessible options, all organized by category? What if you could do so while supporting avatar creators, ensuring they have the means to keep making the fits you love?

🛒 Where is the Avatar Marketplace in VRChat?By default, it appears when you click the “Avatars” tab. If you don’t see it, make sure you’re looking at the “Explore” window, which you can navigate to at the top of the tab.

📦 Do I receive source files when I purchase an avatar?No. You gain access to the avatar in your "Avatars" menu when you buy an avatar. While some sellers may choose to share source files with buyers, this happens outside the Avatar Marketplace and is currently not officially supported by VRChat. Typically, if a seller offers source files, they mention it in the title or description of the avatar you purchase.

🔄 Does this mean VRChat is getting rid of avatar uploads for non-creators?No. You can still upload your own avatars as you always have. The Avatar Marketplace does not replace custom avatar uploads.

📁 Where will purchased avatars be available in the UI?In the “My Avatars” section of the Avatars Tab, under the “Purchased” category.

👥 Can you clone a purchased avatar?If you click on someone who purchased their avatar from the Marketplace, you can use the try it on feature. You won’t be able to clone it, however, unless you already own the avatar.

🛠️ What happens if an avatar is broken (or breaks)?We review all avatars uploaded to the Marketplace to ensure they’re in working order. If they do break, you can contact our support team for more information.

🔐 Can I ever lose access to avatars I’ve purchased?In most cases, no. Even if a creator deletes their account or removes the listing, you will still own the avatar you’ve purchased. Sellers cannot take away an avatar you’ve already bought. In extremely rare cases, it’s possible that we might need to take the avatar down for legal reasons. In these cases, it’s advised you reach out to our support team.

🚫 Are NSFW avatars allowed?Our avatar content guidelines currently don’t permit NSFW content on the marketplace.

🧑🎨 I am a creator and I’d like my avatars listed in the Marketplace. What do I do?Check out the application form! It explains the requirements and how to join. Please remember that we’re still working on the marketplace, so we can only accept a limited number of applicants. We appreciate your interest!
